In the 1930's the purchase of an automobile was a noteworthy event. Frequently the auto salesman taught the new owner to drive, and often provided the insurance as well. From this beginning Earl Deremer began his Insurance Agency in Queens, New York. Concurrently, from their offices on 42nd Street and Park Avenue, Nymco Associates was servicing the clients of Lumber Mutual, a company devoted to insuring the lumber industry.

In the 1940's James Dooley, John Orr, and Bob Deremer were among the G.I.'s returning to a more prosperous Long Island, and people began looking to them to insure their new lives. James Dooley began James F. Dooley Associates in Garden City. John Orr joined four partners at Nymco, which relocated to Bellerose to better service the growing new communities. Bob Deremer joined his Father's burgeoning agency in Queens.

In the 1950's Earl and Bob Deremer relocated their business to Garden City. Steve Dooley and Rich Deremer were to join their Fathers in the 1980's. As the youngest of Nymco's partners, John Orr continued to guide Nymco into the 1990's, when he was joined by sons Tom and Jim.

In the 1990's, with the rapid pace of advancing technology, the second and third generation sons realized that they could serve their customers best by merging their agencies together, forming one strong company with many markets for the great needs of their clients. The Dooley Deremer Orr Agency was formed, and located at 120 Seventh Street, in the heart of Garden City. Here they have access to 15 insurance companies to service the auto, home, business, and life insurance needs of families and businesses throughout the tri-state area.
